Figures show over 80% of travellers are unemployed while only 1% of traveller children go on to third level education
Suicide was also identifed as most common in young traveller men aged 15-25, however a new initiative set up last year in Cork is helping to bring suicide rates down among the 600 traveller families living in the city...
A new national four year strategy is now being rolled out to improve the lives of people in the Travelling and Roma communities.
