Peaceful Protest Continues Outside ABP Plant In Bandon

A peaceful protest is continuing this morning outside the ABP Plant in Bandon.
It's day four of the protest by beef farmers who are calling for a better price for their product.
Yesterday Gardaí were called after campaigners blocked access to the factory while traffic came to a standstill on the road.
They have since moved from the factory gates but are maintaining a presence while they await the outcome of the their meeting with a representative of the ABP.
They presented a list of questions to the factory which is being sent to Meat Industry Ireland for response.
Many hauliers carrying cattle in for slaughter turned their lorries and returned the stock to the farm in support of the protest.
Speaking to RedFM News Helen O'Sullivan of the Beef Plan Movement says one haulier had 50 cattle and turned his lorry back to support the protest- she says they're waiting for a response from the Meat Industry of Ireland to determine their next course of action:
