People have nothing to fear from a new broadcasting charge, according to a former minister for communications.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the Government is set to replace the TV licence in the next five years.
The contract for collecting the new charge will also be put out to tender.
Former Labour Minister for Communications, Pat Rabbitte, says the new system should be acceptable to people if they are currently paying for a TV licence:
