People Urged To Be Careful When Sharing The Water

The RNLI is asking operators of jet skis and power boats to be vigilant, and open water swimmers to make themselves visible with swim caps and tow-floats

Water safety delivery support officer with the RNLI, Lisa Hollingum, says more people are taking to the water with the good weather:

"So we just have to be aware of all the users that are out there on the water. Not to be impeding on waterways where jet skis might be in use. If there's certain areas where there's swimmers, make sure you don't go in there if you're not a swimmer. Maybe for the swimmers, make sure that they are well visible in the water, that they're wearing a bright swimming hat, or that they have a tow float with them as well."
