Permission Granted For Student Accommodation At The Lough

Planning permission has been granted for a controversial student apartment complex at The Lough.

Residents from The Lough formed a group to oppose the proposed 350 bed development in the area as they claimed that it was out of place and would have a negative social impact on the area.. 

They held several meetings and a protest march in an effort to raise their concerns around the increased risk of anti social behaviour, traffic and the impact on infrastructure.

However the revised plans issued by Lyonshall Developments which has seen the number of beds reduced to 324, has been given the green light by planners at City Hall, however 37 conditions have been imposed.
