Planning has been granted for a new garda station at Macroom
The new building is expected to take up to two years to construct
The new garda station, will become the new Divisional Garda Headquarters, when the Cork West and Cork North garda divisions are amalgamated
The land for the new garda station was bought over five years ago but it's understood that it's taken some time for the Public Private Partnership element of the project to be put in place
