Planning Permission Has Been Granted For A Large Solar Farm Outside Of Cobh

The Echo reports that an Bord Pleanala has upheld the decision of Cork County Council to approve the application by energy firm Amarenco

The development consists of a 5 megawatt solar farm, two transformer stations and a delivery station on a 12-hectare site at Ballynacrusha, Cobh.

The council's decision had been appealed by two Cobh residents who claimed the development would devalue nearby property and have a negative visual impact on the area.
