Planning Permission Refused For 400-Metre Breakwater At Baltimore Harbour

Plans for the project was lodged by Cork County Council to An Bord Pleanala in September 2016
Planning permission has been refused for a 400-metre breakwater at Baltimore harbour
The project which was aimed at protecting boats and facilities on the harbour, was lodged by Cork County Council to An Bord Pleanala in September 2016.
They argued that the addition would create a peaceful inner harbour for all users, increase the number of people at the harbour and improve business in the village.
However, Nine objections were lodged against the plan saying the breakwater would confine all vessels leaving or entering the harbour to one way in and out -- an argument which led to the refusal of the project.
