Plans for injection rooms in the city defended

The HSE Drugs and Alcohol Co-Ordinator has responded to critics of plans for supervised injection rooms in the city.
Under the plans drug users will be able to use supervised injecting rooms which aim to control the environment in which users take drugs.
The first injection rooms are expected to be in place in Dublin in the coming months followed by Cork.
Critsics however fear that it's encouraging drug use and sending out the wrong message.
However speaking to RedFM News HSE Drugs and Alcohol Co-Ordinator in Cork David Lane says it's an innovative way to reach out to drug users, reduce harm and ultimately save lives:
