Police confirm the body recovered near Glasgow is missing Cork student

Police in Scotland have confirmed the body found on farmland near Glasgow is missing Cork student Karen Buckley. The 24-year-old disappeared after leaving a nightclub in the city on Sunday morning. A statement released on behalf of her family says they are "heartbroken". It goes on to say 'Karen was our only daughter, cherished by our family and loved by her friends. We will miss her terribly. The family have also appealed for privacy at this time. Detective Superintendent Jim Kerr says a man arrested in connection with Karen Buckley's disappearance is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
