Post mortem underway on the body of newborn baby

A post mortem examination is underway on the body of a baby found dead on the Southside of the city yesterday. Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and the results of the post mortem will determine the course of their inquiry. The newborn was found in the bathroom of a house in Deerpark at around 4.30pm yesterday. The mother, an Irish woman in her 40's, is being treated in hospital and gardai are hoping to interview her today.
