Pre-Hospital Emergency Physician Speaks Out About Benefits Of Drug Testing At Festivals

A 19-year-old lost his battle for life in Cork University Hospital this week after ingesting a substance at the Indiependence Music Festival in Mitchelstown.
Dr Jason Van Der Velde says the move would allow the implementation of what are known as harm reduction strategies.
However he told RedFM News that while drug testing at festivals has its benefits, taking illegal substances is always a risk and its akin to playing Russian roulette as there's no quality control and that's why they're illegal:
