Prefabs to be replaced at 46 schools

It's hoped up to 300 new jobs could be created with the development of a new prefab replacement programme in Irish schools. A total of €15 million has been allocated to replace prefabs and provide permanent resource rooms and classrooms for some 2,650 students. 46 schools, with 115 prefab units, will be offered grants to provide the new facilities. The Minister for Education & Skills, Ruairí Quinn has announced details of the initiative to provide permanent accommodation for pupils.
