President Michael D Higgins To Meet Emma Mhic Mhathúna

President Michael D Higgins is to meet Emma Mhic Mhathúna, a 37 year old mother of five who has terminal cancer.
Emma, who is one 209 women at the centre of the CervicalCheck scandal, revealed last week that she contacted her local gardai and asked for the Director General of the HSE to be arrested for her attempted murder.
She is to raise the scandal with President Michael D Higgins when she meets him later today.
The President has spoken about the scandal saying others are carrying the burden of an auditing system that has failed our citizens. He has described Emma Mhic Mhathúna's case as tragic and says she's facing an awful reality.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Emma says she's hopeful that Michael D Higgins will take action on her behalf.
