Pressure's mounting on the Garda Commissioner to step aside while new whistleblower claims are examined.
Opposition TDs have asked the Tánaiste what she'll do if the whistleblowers refuse to co-operate with any inquiry while Noirin O'Sullivan remains in charge.
Frances Fitzgerald refused to be drawn on the issue and expressed her full confidence in the commissioner.
