Pressure To Tackle Cork's Homeless Crisis Mounts
It comes following the death of a woman who was sleeping rough in the city
Pressure is mounting on the government to put an end to the homeless crisis as homeless services in Cork are gearing up yet another busy Christmas.
It's after a woman in her 40s who was sleeping rough in the city was found dead on Lower Oliver Plunkett Street yesterday morning.
Cork Simon Community say the number of long-term homeless people in the city has jumped to 20 per night from 12 just three years ago.
Cork woman Anne is a service user at the charity and says she's slept in the very spot where the grim discovery was made yesterday morning.
She told RedFM News that Christmas is a particularly difficult time of year to be without a home:
