Progress in sight for Cork transatlantic flights

The US Department of Transportation approved the license for the route in principal last Friday.

It's hoped Cork-US flights will be in operation before the end of the year with talks on ticket sales reportedly being lined up.

It follows a breakthrough last Friday which brought an end to delays in Norwegian Air International's application process for a permit to operate the routes.

The US Department of Transportation approved the license for the route in principal and a final decision is expected next month.

According to today's Irish Examiner the airline hope to launch the Boston service before the end of this year pending full approval from The US Department of Transportation.
