Property tax paid in Cork, should stay in Cork

The County Manager says the money paid by Cork homeowners must be kept in Cork to be spent on services here Martin Riordan also says he's concerned that there will be no transparency around how people's property taxes are spent The Government says that the home tax will pay for services in the community, but it's been suggested that the tax will be collected centrally and then divided out to local authorities - meaning Cork taxes would likely subsidise smaller counties where less tax is paid.. Martin Riordan says if this happens a golden opportunity to create an accountable link between what people pay and services would be lost
