Protest due to get underway over CIT merger

TUI members are set to mount a protest in the city.
A protest is due to get underway in the city against the merge of CIT and the Institute of Technology, Tralee.
TUI members at CIT are set to take part in a demonstration against the merge at 8pm outside the Metropole as Minister for Education Jan O'Sullivan will be attending a meeting with other Labour TD's.
Concerns have been expressed over the process of a merger, the cost it will incur and its potential impact on staff.
On Friday, an emergency TUI branch meeting took place where a vote resulted in the escalation of industrial action to work to rule.
Speaking to Cork's RedFM, Gillian Quinlan from the Cork branch of the TUI outlines the feeling on the ground among their members.
