Protest mounted at Churchfield waste transfer facility
Up to 80 locals joined this mornings protest outside the waste transfer facility operating in Churchfield The protest was mounted to prevent waste trucks from making deliveries to the depot for nearly two hours.. This comes despite moves by one of the waste operators at the rubbish depot to invest thousands of euro on eliminating the smell emanating from their operations.. However Locals say the foul smell remains along with problems with vermin and flies despite the efforts to sanitize the site and they want the depot to be moved to a more suitable location such as Bottlehill in North Cork Maurice Sheehan from the NORTHSIDE SAYS NO TO RUBBISH CAMPAIGN told RedFM News that the protest was mounted after locals were briefed on the latest situation at Churchfield Click PLAY to hear audio
