Protest on Liam Healy Road over road safety concerns

Fairhill residents say they have been seeking traffic calming measures in the area for nearly 20 years
Locals on Liam Healy Road have disrupted re-surfacing works as they demand the Council make good on their promise to install speed ramps.
The Fairhill residents say they have been seeking traffic calming measures in the area for nearly 20 years and they are prepared to stay out on the road until the City Council comes up with the funding to install the ramps.
Locals claim the Council promised that speed bumps would be introduced in conjunction with re-surfacing works which began yesterday, however residents formed a protest this morning to stop the works
They say they are fearful for their children's safety due to the speed of cars travelling along the road
Teresa Mannix is living on Liam Healy Road and she told RedFM News that the Council claims that there is no funding available for the ramps.
