Protest outside City Hall this morning

A protest was mounted outside City Hall this morning ahead of a meeting on the Rebuilding Ireland plan.

Housing Minister Simon Coveney is meeting stakeholders including builders and voluntary bodies today on the government's plan to tackle the housing crisis.

There's currently around 5 and a half thousand people on the social housing list Leeside however RedFM News has learned that  plans are underway to allocate housing to around 1,300 people on the list by the end of 2017.

Protesters have gathered outside the building and say they are the key stakeholders in the process and yet they're unable to attend the meeting.

Catherine is one of the protesters outside City Hall and she told RedFM News that she believes people who are directly affected by the housing crisis, including those on the social housing list, aren't being listened to:
