Protest planned against incinerator for Ringaskiddy
The oral hearing on the plans is due to begin next Tuesday.
A protest is set to be mounted in Carrigaline next Tuesday where the oral hearing into a planned incinerator for Ringaskiddy is due to take place.
Opposition to the planned €160m incinerator remains firm despite news that Cork County Council found the revised proposal for the facility within the rules.
However, county councillors have voiced their opposition to plans and are preparing a document to present to An Bord Pleanála.
Indaver who plan to build the facility say the incinerator is needed as Ireland needs to manage its own waste instead of exporting it and have moved to allay health and safety concerns.
Speaking to RedFM news, Indaver's Managing Director John Ahern says new facilities are often met with opposition:
