Locals in Mayfield have staged a protest at the site of a new school on the Tank Field this morning.
Protesters parked a 4x4 in front of the entrance to the site, preventing contractors from gaining access.
Members of the Gardaí arrived at the scene along with a tow truck, however protesters removed the 4x4 blocking the entrance shortly before 9:20am.
Locals have accused contractors of insulting the dead after two memorial trees were felled on the site last week
Speaking to RedFM News at the scene of this mornings protest, Brendan Goggin says locals are outraged by the felling of the trees
