Protest to be staged at the White House in support of a new law which could block the Cork/US air link

Ryanair has backed the proposal by Norwegian Air International for the Cork/Boston route
American unions are to stage a protest at the White House on Thursday in support of a new law which could block the proposed Cork/US air link
The news comes as the Irish Examiner reports that Ryanair has backed the proposal by Norwegian Air International for the Cork/Boston route.
The airline is facing stiff opposition in the US, to it's planned new route, by labour unions, however Ryanair believes the airlink will result in increased competition and customer choice, a better service, and lower fares for American and European consumers.
Last month Cork Airport urged business leaders to lodge submissions in favour of the proposed route and Ryanair is among one of the high profile firms to give its' backing to the route
The US Department of Transport consultation process ends on May 16th, with a final decision on the permit due after that.
