Protest to get underway at CIT amid row over online courses
A number of online courses at CIT, which were due to start on Monday, look unlikely to go ahead on that day due to industrial action. A protest is to be held at CIT this lunchtime by lecturing staff from the TUI Cork Colleges branch to highlight their dis-satisfaction over management's refusal to resolve the additional workload requirements essential for the college's online courses.. A last ditch effort to resolve the issues was held at a meeting between the two sides yesterday under the auspices of the Labour Relations Commision but the meeting ended without agreement Speaking to RedFM News June O'Reilly of the TUI says sufficient resources are not being invested in the college's online courses [CLIP]
