Public consultation on Flood Relief scheme closes this evening

The public consultation process for Corks €140 million euro flood relief scheme has now closed for submissions.
The Office of Pubic Works extended the deadline to allow members of the public to express their opinions on the plan, which has proved to be divisive.
Those opposed to the plans, say the fabric of the city centre will be irreversibly changed by the building of walls and embankments along the river Lee.
The Save Cork City Group, who have been campaigning against the scheme, say the OPW have not taken Cork's Georgian water landscape into account.
However, speaking to RedFM News Minister for the OPW Sean Canney says all submissions will be considered before the final decision is made:
