Public meeting to be held to discuss 202 bus route

A public meeting will be held in Mahon this evening for locals to either accept or reject proposals from Bus Eireann on changes to the 202 bus route on Skehard Road.

Locals from the area met with the National Transport Authority and Bus Eireann on Tuesday to discuss the issue, stating the route change had left the area underserviced.

It follows a lightening picket at Capwell station on Monday morning, that prevented 130 buses from leaving the station disrupting commuters during the morning rush hour.

At the meeting Bus Eireann did not agree to fully reinstate all the stops on Skehard Road but did offer an alternative.
