Purple Flag assessment for the city completed
It's hoped the city will receive the internationally recognised award.
The final assessment for the Purple Flag award for Cork City has been completed.
Two representatives from the Purple Flag Academy Programme visited the city over the weekend to carry out the final leg of their adjudication.
The award is internationally recognised which identifies locations with diverse entertainment for various age groups between the hours of 5pm and 5am.
Cork city will be assessed under categories such as well-being, movement, appeal, place and policy.
Speaking to RedFM News, Chair of the Cork City Centre Forum Gillian Keating says it would be a great boost for tourism in the city if it was awarded:
