Rail strike could be on the cards
Cork commuters are being warned that a strike could be on the cards at Irish Rail.... SIPTU members have rejected recommendations by the Labour Court by a narrow margin. Workers were voting on terms relating to proposed pay cuts as part of cost-saving measures at the company. SIPTU spokesman Paul Cullen says it's clear from the ballot that members categorically reject pay cuts. He says it's up to Irish Rail to avert a strike. Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
