Recession Has Negative Impact On Blood Donations
One in four people will need a blood transfusion in their lifetime. The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says it is struggling to keep blood stocks at the required level. The recession has had an unexpected negative impact on the level of blood donations and attendances at all clinics have dropped significantly. In particular stocks of Blood Groups O Positive, O Negative and A Negative are currently running low.
