Red weather warning issued for Cork

The Department of Education is urging schools to consider closing

It's been confirmed Gaelcholaiste Mhuire Ag is closed tomorrow.

Meanwhile Bus Eireann has cancelled it's school bus services for tomorrow to ensure school children are not endangered in any way.

The tail end Hurricane Ophelia is to hit our shores tomorrow morning, with warnings of high winds and sea swells.

The National Emergency Group is meeting this morning to plan ahead.

Tom Tiernan, Senior Engineer with Clare County Council, says the important thing is to be prepared.
