RedFM Marks International Women's Day
Events are taking place across the city and county this weekend to mark International Women's Day. This year the theme is 'inspiring change' and celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women. The focus is also being put on other areas that need attention including the victims of physical and sexual violence. A recent study has revealed that just 21% of women who have experienced physical or sexual abuse have reported the incidents to gardaí. AUDIO: Speaking to Cork's RedFM Mary Crilly of the Sexual Violence Centre in Cork says the courage of women who suffer from abuse and look for support should also be highlighted.
