Removal Of Cars Trapped In Douglas Village Shopping Centre Car Park Could Begin Today Or Tomorrow

Up to 200 cars are trapped in the multi-story car park, after a blaze broke out on Saturday evening
The fire started when a car on the first floor of the car park caught fire.
60 cars were damaged, with the majority completely burnt out.
Engineers arrived at the shopping centre this morning to assess the damage and plan for the extraction of the cars.
Speaking to RedFM News, Manager of the Douglas Village Shopping Centre Bartosz Mieszala says removing the cars from the car park safely is a top priority:
An information line in relation to the cars that are still inside the car park has been set up, and can be reached on 087 950 9800.
Meanwhile Axa Insurance says it will provide free car hire for any customers impacted by the fire, regardless of whether their car has been damaged or not.
