Renewed Calls Have Been Made For An End To The System Of Direct Provision At A Protest In Cork

The protest took place in the City Centre this afternoon

The demonstration was held on the Grand Parade by residents of the Kinsale Road Direct Provision Centre after two men living there were deported to Pakistan last week. 

Residents say not only are they living in constant fear of being deported to a country they're not safe in, but they're treated like inmates in a prison. 

Speaking to RedFM News at the protest today activist Roos Demol says these latest deportations have caused massive distress among the residents, who are also living in conditions they are not humane:
