Rents Increase By 7% in Last 12 Months

Rents have increased by 7% around the country in the last 12 months.
A new report from the Residential Tenancies Board shows the national average is now 1,202 euro a month
It also shows that Macroom is being added to the growing list of rent pressure zones.
Renters in the city are now paying €1,177 a month on average, while tenants in the county are paying an average of €1,062
Dublin remains the most expensive place to live at €1,713. Leitrim is the cheapest at €560.
Reacting to the report, Sinn Fein says the rising cost shows rent pressure zones are failing renters.
Director of the RTB, Rosalind Carroll says the increasing cost is showing little sign of a slowdown:
