Rents On The Rise Again

The average national rent rose 2.2% last year, marking the first annual rise in rents since 2007. According to the Daft.ie Rental Report, the jump in rents is being driven by Ireland’s largest cities, such as Cork, Dublin and Galway. In Cork city, rents have risen by 1.8% in the last year and the average rent is now €797. In the rest of Cork, rents are largely stable, falling by just 0.6% in 2012. However, rents elsewhere continued to fall, with annual drops of 1.1% in Limerick city and 2.8% in Waterford.
