Report in Kent station's canopy collapse published

A report published into the collapse of a canopy at Cork's Kent station in severe weather conditions last year has revealed that the structure did not receive adequate inspection. This comes despite the fact that last December Iarnród Éireann confirmed that the collapsed roof was inspected and passed as safe in January 2012 However the railway safety inspectors report found that the canopy was not inspected since an updated safety standard was introduced by Iarnród Éireann in 2004.
