Report On Fatal Fireplace Accident In Cork

An engineer’s report will play a key role in establishing how a little boy died in a fireplace accident at his family home in the city. Gardaí have conducted a forensic examination at the scene of the tragedy in Coolgreen, White’s Cross as part of their probe into the death of Fionn Dawson on Tuesday. The five year old, suffered severe injuries when a fireplace collapsed and fell on him as he played in his home. He was rushed to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Gardaí are treating the death as a “tragic accident”.
