Representative From National Flood Forum Believes New Cork Town Is Not Sustainable

The PRO of the National Flood Forum says the decision to give the go ahead for a new Cork town proves that nothing has been learned from past mistakes.
Blackpool based Ger Buckley was speaking after it was confirmed that Monard is to be developed around 4km from Blarney and is expected to house around 17,000 people.
An Bord Pleanala will not allow the town to proceed until the railway station is built.
Traders in Blackpool have long raised their concerns about the added pressure on the flow of water through the village which has been badly hit by flooding over the years.
Speaking to RedFM News Ger Buckley of the Blackpool Flood Forum says he doesn't believe this development is being done on a sustainable basis.
