Residents at Cork direct provision centre have stopped accepting meals in protest at food quality

The Irish Examiner reports the majority of the almost 100 residents at Ashbourne House in Glounthane refused meals on Monday and yesterday.
Residents have met with management and have written to the equality and integration minister Roderic O'Gorman about the situation twice.
Residents say the same oil is used to cook multiple foods including meat.
They also say that while they can use a small kitchen at the centre, their requests for raw food have been turned down.
