Residents in Gurranabraher frustrated by delays to housing repairs

The Lord Mayor says he understands the frustrations of residents of Allen Square in Gurranabraher but budgetary restraints remain an obstacle for the City Council.
Residents in the estate this week mounted a protest over the lack of remedial works on their homes and the damp and cold conditions they're being forced to live in.
They claim the City Council promised to carry out insulation works where necessary over three years ago however no work has been conducted on their homes
Speaking to RedFM News Lord Mayor Cllr Des Cahill says the housing directorate will try to alleviate the issues the residents are dealing with however budgetary constraints will determine how much they can do:
