Residents In Vicinity Of Ellis' Yard Say Illegal Dumping So Bad They Can't Invite Guests To Their Homes

A protest was held outside City Hall this evening where the local authority was called to take immediate action and shut down the yard.
€184,000 has already been spent on cleanups at the site since 2008 and the fire service was called out to the site over 90 times last year.
At the demonstration this evening rat droppings and bottled toxic fumes were on display to exemplify the conditions that locals are dealing with.
Local Shay Heggney has been living in the vicinity for the past 14 years and he told RedFM News that it's time something was done:
Meanwhile City Council say they will clean up the area in the coming weeks, mend the fencing and install CCTV.
However speaking to RedFM News Cllr Ken O'Flynn says he'll be working towards the closure of the Ellis Yard site and the nearby Spring Lane Halting site:
