Road repairs in the county set to grind to a halt later this month

It's feared road repairs and maintenance on the county's road network could cease later this month.
It's after SIPTU announced that it had served notice of industrial action on Cork County Council in a row over staffing levels.
The Union says management have refused to recruit more staff to adequately deliver statutory services.
As a result SIPTU members in the Roads and Drivers Sections will commence industrial action from 8am on May 17th.
The industrial action will take the form of SIPTU members not engaging with, co-operating with or transporting private contractors, excluding digger-drivers.
Work-stoppages of three and four hours in duration are also planned.
SIPTU claims the County Council is failing to replace workers as they retire and is moving towards the outsourcing of work to private 'for profit' companies."
A spokesperson says union representatives remain available for talks.
