Roads Update

On the roads the routes in the city are extremely dangerous and extreme care is advised particularly on hills and on slip roads off the South Ring. 

Gardaí in Cobh meanwhile are advising motorists that they need to use the Coast Road to enter the town, low roads are passable but motorists are advised to avoid the higher ground where possible.
 
The streets in Youghal are impassable and while the main roads in the district are driveable all secondary routes in the area will cause problems for motorists. 
 
No snow is being reported in Mallow as yet but Gardaí are still advising people not to travel ahead of the weather warning taking effect this afternoon. 
 
No incidents have been reported in West Cork as motorists heed the Garda advice and stay off the roads. 
 
Bandon Gardaí have been in touch with us in the RedFM Newsroom and have praised the public for their cooperation and heeding all the advise to stay indoors. 

As of 10.30am there are no incidents to report in the entire West Cork region.

Cork County Council has confirmed to RedFM News that salting and gritting was carried out last night on all priority one and two and was carried out at least three times during the last 24 hours.
