Rock 'n' Roll icon Chuck Berry passes away aged 90

In a career spanning 7 decades, his hits included 'Jonny Be Good,' Roll Over Beethoven' and 'Maybellene'

Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen and Rod Stewart are among the music stars paying tribute to the 'father of rock-and-roll', Chuck Berry. 

He died at the age of 90 at his home in Missouri yesterday. 

St Charles County Police Department said they were called to a medical emergency at his home around twenty to one local time where they found him unresponsive.

The guitarist and singer is credited with kick-starting the genre back in the 50s. 

American music presenter Lou Simon says he was a true icon.
