RTE Has Received A Pandemic-Related Finance Boost

It means it's on course to turn a profit for the first time in 3 years

The Sunday Times reports staff were told on Thursday that the broadcaster's in line to make 5 million euro.

It's believed that the wage subsidy scheme, the cancellation of international events and advertising money from the Government and HSE contributed to RTE's accounts.

However the station is still seeking to shed 60 to 70 staff in a cost cutting exercise that it hopes will save 60 million.
