Rural communities across Cork are uniting against proposed casino's

Applications made for casinos at Fermoy and Mitchelstown has been met with significant opposition from locals.
According to a report in the Irish Examiner over 1000 signatures have been received against the proposed casino in Mitchelstown while hundreds of people attended a meeting in Fermoy against the proposed casino for the town.
County officials believe the applications to build casinos in the towns comes ahead of a new legislation which looks to introduce stricter measures for casinos next year.
A motion has been brought before councillors to ban new gaming arcades for the entire municipal district which covers Charleville and Donneraile.
