Ryanair calls for action to help aviation sector
The airline industry needs action now to help the sector, rather than wait for the completion of a taskforce report.
That's the message from the CEO of Ryanair, who believes short term measures can be taken.
Last week the government set up an Aviation Taskforce with a view to making recommendations by July 10th.
Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson says that's too late.
"We are taking part, but the season will be over before they reduce their report - we need action now.
"The way to stimulate tourism is to get rid of these quarantines, make it easy for people to go in and out of Ireland, try and save some part of this holiday season so that hotels and restaurants can get back to business."
