Sable In Cork Has Been Euthanized After It Was Found To Be Carrying A Virus Associated With Rabies

That's according to The Department of Agriculture

The Irish Times reports today that the department became aware of a sable displaying erratic behaviour at a Leeside home where it had been imported and kept as a pet, on January 7th.

As a result gatherings of dogs, cats or ferrets including hunting, sales and fairs will be prohibited within a 8km surveillance area in Co Cork and any animals found dead should be reported to the department.
